No cloud file uploads, no account and no external fonts or scripts. Caption processing happens in your browser. The hosting service still receives ordinary page/asset requests.
Projects live in memory by default and disappear when the tab closes. Saving on this device is optional, unencrypted, and visible to anyone using this browser profile. Never rely on browser storage as your only copy.
Your session, your choice
Saves captions and settings in localStorage. Does not save video files. Enabling this replaces any saved project here.
Automatic saving is off.
A focused tool, with clear limits.
Cueforge edits existing subtitles. It does not transcribe, translate, encode video or burn in captions. SRT/VTT export is free here; free subtitle tools also exist elsewhere. This is not a full video editor or a replacement for every paid editing feature.
Modern browsers with JavaScript, File/Blob APIs and native video playback are required. Codec support varies by browser and device. Downloads may open a share/save sheet on mobile. UTF-8 only; one project at a time; 2 MiB text, 4 MiB backups, 5,000 cues, local video preview up to 2 GiB. The mini timeline displays the first 500 cues. Undo retains up to 30 changes within an 8 MiB budget per undo/redo stack.
